Dr. Wayne Wood is a noted author,
speaker, artist, and historian. He has produced seven books on
Jacksonville history and architecture, and is widely regarded as a
leader in Jacksonville's historic preservation movement.
His books include the award-winning best seller, Jacksonville's Architectural Heritage, as
well as his latest 430-page effort, The
Jacksonville Family Album: 150 Years of the Art of Photography, which
many consider to be the most beautiful book about Jacksonville ever
published.
Wayne's interest in art and preservation, combined with his
inquisitiveness about the historic past as well as the avant garde,
led him to Pasaquan seven years ago. He has returned many times and
considers it an important but little-known
wonder of the art world. He hopes that by encouraging people to see
Pasaquan for themselves, more energy will be given to the preservation
of this endangered work of visionary art.
